BOOK REVIEWS

In the past I have reviewed and rated books for teachers and staff. This hasn't helped you much because you haven't had access to the reviews.I figured if you wanted to talk to me you could just "come on down." Now we have blogs and now I'm reviewing for you as well. My question is, would you also like to see some of the old reviews and ratings I have written?

NEW BOOK CALENDAR

WAIT & BE HAPPY: We have anticipated your needs; you want the latest and greatest fiction and nonfiction books.Sometimes you have to wait for the next book in a series or the next new book of your favorite author. See the attached book calendar to see when the new book you want  will be released. Sometimes publishers surprise us and publish early, so keep up with this blog to be best informed about book arrival at Lone Peak's Media Center.

BOOK REQUESTS

There are a number ways to get the Teacher Librarian, Miss Mayne, to buy the book you want.
  1. TELL HER: Miss Mayne loves to talk about books, but she's really a good listener too. She'd like to know what books you are interested in reading.
  2. SUGGESTION BOX: If you can't catch Miss Mayne, write your suggestion on a piece of paper and drop it in the black Suggestion Box on the front desk by the main entrance. Make sure you include the title and author. Also, make sure to see if we don't have it already; 75% of all books requested we already have in our collection.Check the Patron Catalog.
  3. E-MAIL: Write Miss Mayne the title and author of the book you want at: dmayne@alpinedistrict.com, or just blog your request on our main page. * Remember there is a formal Selection Policy that Miss Mayne has to adhere to making sure you have access to quality books. We do not have a separate shelf for adult themed books because we consider pulling books and requiring permission for students to read books a subtle type of censorship.
